Lexpat Assists Consumers with Erroneous Outrageous Utility Bill

Lexpat has been proud to be able to help a Southern California couple fight a serious of mistaken billings from their electric company, Southern California Edison (SCE), which had totaled over $18,000. SCE is the primary electricity utility for much of Southern California, serving approximately 15 million people in a 50,000-square-mile service area.
The bills at issue related to a property the couple had not owned in over 15 years. Even so, they found it impossible to work through SCE’s normal customer service channels to get the issue resolved. Nobody they spoke to was empowered to help them.
Having worked in large, bureaucratic organizations, Lexpat’s attorneys were able quickly to cut through Edison’s layers of bureaucracy and red tape, and had the issue resolved within three months with no damage to the client’s credit and without having to file a formal complaint.
“Navigating the bureaucracy of any large organization can be a daunting task,” said Lexpat’s Adam Pearlman, who spearheaded the matter. “It’s too easy to sit on hold for hours at a time, only to get pushed around to other offices when it turns out the person you’re talking to isn’t empowered to solve the problem.”
“We were proud to be able to cut through SCE’s red tape to get the problem resolved. We made clear to the executives that this was Edison’s mistake, and that our clients were serious about getting it taken care of – quickly.”
Pearlman is licensed to practice law in California.
