Over the past year, Lexpat has aided multiple former government officials with navigating the ins and outs of being senior executives for private firms. One of our clients, a former Senior Intelligence Service official, led a start-up that was establishing itself as a leading data marketplace when a leadership shuffle organized by its parent company sought to deprive her of a meaningful severance package. Lexpat’s lawyers were able to help her negotiate favorable terms, including further compensation and limiting the scope of the company’s non-compete demands.
For another client, a former member of the Senior Executive Service in the Department of Defense, Lexpat helped her negotiate her employment terms and benefits as a first-time CEO.
Lexpat Attorney-Consultant Rob “Butch” Bracknell and Managing Director and head of Lexpat’s Private Advisory practice Adam Pearlman, led the representations.
“Applying our employment law practice in context of the defense, intelligence, and security sectors where Lexpat has tried-and-true expertise is a particular strength of ours,” said Butch. “Understanding the value that former public servants bring to industry is a tremendous asset to negotiating favorable terms with employers – both at hiring and when transitioning to other opportunities.
“Many from our own team have stood in their shoes,” offered Adam, “and we’re happy to help ensure they get the most out of their next career moves.”
